Hi there
Please make sure that you apply the correct licensing and categories when uploading images. This makes them easier to find down the track. See here for how you should have done it; see here for a brief guide on uploading media files. —darklordtrom 23:47, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Screenshot licensing
When adding a licensing tag to anime or game screenshots, please avoid just choosing "Screenshot". This is not descriptive and places the images in the wrong category. Make sure to choose "Screenshot from a Pokémon game," or "Screenshot from the Pokémon anime." This will put them in the right categories, and will lessen the workload of people trying to clean up the Archives. Thanks. --Maverick Nate 00:28, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Bump the above. If it's from a game, please tag it as such. —darklordtrom 09:43, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Serebii.net images
Please don't take picture from Serebii.net to avoid getting in trouble with Serebii for taking their game screenshots without permission. Thanks, Kevzo8 07:29, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Hey
Is it ok if you don't upload them yet? The spacing prior to the .png thing is unneeded... just tell me which files to move (the Emerald ones), and I'll fix 'em up. We don't want the system to crash you know... ht14 00:34, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Correction, just leave it so you upload 'em without the space... so it'd be File:001.png, not File:001 .png... ht14 00:36, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
Okay, will do. --Dialgafan1 00:40, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
Transparency
You can add {{transparency needed}}
instead of using {{bad image}}
. --Abcboy (talk) 18:59, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- I recommend Paint.NET for transparentization of sprites. They should also be 32 by 32. --Abcboy (talk) 19:05, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
Regarding uploads
Unless you have waited a couple of days for the new image to appear, do not revert to the previous image. It takes a while for the server to cache. Thanks. ht14 20:12, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
Okay. Thank you for letting me know. Dialgafan1 (talk) 20:16, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
Wait!
Generation III, IV and V overworld sprites should be 32x32 (unless actual sprite is bigger than that, like Rayquaza's HGSS sprite). Marked +-+-+ (talk) 20:47, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
Ok. Sorry. I've been uploading them because I have a feeling that no one else is gonna upload them. Just gonna upload the male FRLG Swimmer OD then I will be done for good. Dialgafan1 (talk) 20:57, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
- Also, the game extensions in the overworld sprite file names need to be in between the trainer class name and OD, not in front. For example, Black Belt FRLG OD.png is better instead of FRLG Black Belt OD.png. Pattyman (talk) 22:35, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
