Moves
I see you uploaded some moves... However... I saw that text is very fast, and there is no first frame for browsers that don't support animated pngs (it's skipped in animation, but browsers that don't support anipng see it as thumbnail). Compare this file to this one. See any difference in thumbnail? I use 1000ms for first and last frame, 100ms for text, 33ms for animation (plus HP bar change) and 11ms for "blinking" Pokémon (for moves like Fury Swipes), however, this doesn't have to be good for other generations (eg. Generation I had slower animations as 33ms seemed to be too fast for it). If you want to know how I did all this stuff, talk to Masatoshi. Marked +-+-+ 15:54, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
4th gen stuff
If you get to 4th gen stuff anytime soon, don't worry about Air Slash/Blizzard/Confusion/Hydro Pump/Leaf Storm/Mirror Move/Night Shade/Overheat/Thunderbolt, I've got all those recorded. And there's no difference between the DPPt and HGSS versions of those moves so they're all set once I've got a confirmation on what speed to use. While we're at it, just a tip, check between both version sets whenever you do get to 4th gen stuff. Just in case the site missed anything. (And maybe for third gen too? I dunno if there's move version differences between RSE and FR/LG)
Also I've never had the AVI-recording feature make the screen brighter, and I tested that on Platinum. So I dunno what was up with you. Oh, and keep up the good work with the 3rd-gen images. -- Trainer Hunter -- 12:41, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
Silly mistakes
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Pin_Missile_III.png - Seems the first frame here needs a bit of fixing up to fix... whatever happened to it. -- Trainer Hunter -- 00:34, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Oops, that was the reload button popup, lol. I reupped it, thanks for the catch - I was using Firefox to upload, so I missed that. --Jdthebud 03:45, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
JPG → PNG
Please remember that when you replace a JPG format image with a PNG format image, you will need to replace all of the JPG's non-talkspace & non-userspace uses before adding {{delete}}
to its description page. If there is an inclusion that you're unable to change, just contact a staff member on the wiki the image is being used on (Bulbapedia, Bulbanews, or Archives). Thanks - Kogoro | Talk to me - 04:49, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
Transparency
I hope it's my eyes deceiving me, because when I look at the category for Gold and Silver Sugimori art, the two pictures I marked up have a white background... ht14 00:49, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I downloaded both of them, and they were transparent. I don't know why the art page has the white background. --Jdthebud 03:37, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Anipng request
Hey Jdthebud, I noticed your anipng work. I was wondering, would it be possible to modify the frame of an anipng so a different default image can be shown? I'm specifically concerned with images such as this, this, this, and this, which, when viewed by a browser that cannot see anipngs, will see a black screen. Thanks in advance for your help! ht14 13:45, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
- The best way is to use the APNG Disassembler program. First, put your anipng into its own folder, then drag it into the program. I usually leave the output prefix as the default "apngframe", but you can change it if you want. Then hit convert, and when it is done, your folder will have each individual still .png image in the anipng, along with .txt files that specify the delay for each frame in the original anipng file. Now you are ready to remake the anipng - for best results, use ANPG Assembler as it will use those .txt files to input the delay automatically. First, locate the frame you want for unsupported browsers, and drag it into the program. Then select all of the apngframe files, including the frame you selected earlier - I usually sort the folder by "Type" so this is easier - and drag them as one pile into the program as well. Then make sure you have "Skip the first frame" selected in Playback Settings, hit Convert, and you are good to go!
- FYI, the Sandstorm file you linked to above actually is one I fixed several days ago already, but the other ones do need fixing. Let me know if you have any other questions, and I will be happy to help. Jdthebud (talk) 17:39, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
Card scans
As the upload media page says, jpgs are supposed to be used for "scans such as cards from the Pokémon TCG", not pngs. Additionally, any images of cards you ever upload need to be either an official image or a scan of a card that you have scanned yourself, not simply a format switched poor quality image just to have it be a different format. High quality scans will come eventually, and we don't need to replace images just to need to replace them again later. MaverickNate 16:22, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
2D Unova maps
The truth is that I never got the camera view to a 2D view for those maps. I just took tile-by-tile screencaps from the raw game. --Gabo 2oo (talk) 15:41, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
- yeah, I saw that on the Unova Route 1 talk page. Seems that it can't be forced with codes in g5 unlike g4. Jdthebud (talk) 00:10, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
Tanoby Key Image
You had asked me about a tanoby key image. I still have that image. If you need it I can send it to you by the Email-User function. You can reply to me on my talk page. →SuperPikaPool13(TALK)(BP) 17:15, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry fot the (very very very) late reply! Here is the image you wanted. The Pokemon wiki allowed me to upload images even though i was new there. So, it was uploaded by me. Not stolen form there. --→PikaTepig999★ 06:44, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks. However, do you have a PNG image of this? --Jdthebud (talk) 07:07, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- No, but if you want, you can convert it online. --→PikaTepig999★ 10:17, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- Converting it wasn't the problem, jpgs in general are lower quality and have artifacts (as this one does). I was able to get a clean image regardless and uploaded it. Compare what I uploaded to the jpg (might need to zoom in) and you will see what I mean. Thanks for your help. Jdthebud (talk) 21:44, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Pong.
I've sent you an email about something I wanted to ask. - unsigned comment from Eridanus (talk • contribs)
Distortion World
Why do the different images have a different blue? I haven't been to the Distortion World in a few years, but it still seems odd. Also, what necessitated Giratina's image to be split from Cyrus's image? It looks like, at first glance, that they would fit together. Good work on the images though. --Abcboy (talk) 15:08, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- The "sky" beyond the clouds gets lighter as you go down a level. It might be better to have a common background (like black) but that is why I did it that way. As for the split, Giratina's area is actually a separate part of the map - when you step on the last tile on B7F, your "enter" that area, and the bottom tile in Giratina's area is cut off beyond that, as well as having a different color background and more rocks.
- Also, are you planning on finishing some of the route maps for Platinum? I still haven't done any since we last talked on your page. I believe Routes 216, 217, 218, 220, 221, 223, 224, 226, and 230 all still need Platinum maps. --Jdthebud (talk) 17:41, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
Return and Frustration
In Generation III, they have three animations, depending on power. This doesn't happen in G2, not sure about G4 and G5 (or G6). IIRC, Return changes if friendship is =>92 and once again for =>201, while Frustration changes if it's <=200 and once again <=100. I'd do it myself, if I weren't busy with PMD.. Eridanus (talk) 18:19, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
- I remember asking a staff member about that (can't remember who though) a long time ago when I was doing G3 animations and they said it was fine for now, but I remember thinking at the time that it should be included. Will try to get them done this week. I assume just put them in their respective "In other generations" section? --Jdthebud (talk) 00:31, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- I guess that's where it goes, as it's Generation III. Eridanus (talk) 08:32, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- Turns out there are four animations for each - Frustration has 0-30, 31-99, 100-199, and 200+, while Return has 0-60, 61-91, 92-200, and 201+. You learn something every day I guess. --Jdthebud (talk) 02:41, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- Considering this, what's your suggestion for file naming? --Jdthebud (talk) 03:19, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- Never mind, I think I figured out the file names. However, I am at a loss as to how to put the animations on the move pages, the code isn't very friendly... --Jdthebud (talk) 03:38, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- You could do it like Weather Ball or Secret Power, I guess? Some moves like Weather Ball, did things, but since it always happened... Eridanus (talk) 08:35, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

Weather
I think some of the weather (or at least Hail) had different animation in DP. You may want to doublecheck that. Eridanus (talk) 10:48, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
